I’ve always had a love of art. The first cartoons, comics and video games I got my hands on amazed me. I was in awe and wonder of all the colorful characters and environments displayed and it wasn’t long before I was copying these images into the pages of my first sketch books. This fascination eventually led to me creating my own heroes, villains and monsters and before I knew it I was on the path to becoming a creative.

As I entered college I was looking for a way to channel this passion and turn it into a career. I took a variety of art classes in various disciplines but when I took my first design classes things started coming together. While the songs we hear on the radio become the soundtrack of our lives the designs we interact with in our day to day lives help shape our personal image, our wants and desires, our decision making processes, and how we learn and interact with the world around us. This is a big responsibility and one not to be taken lightly. It’s also a big opportunity as designers can have a sizeable impact on the world around us.

As I moved further into my studies a whole world opened up to me; One that had been around me all along but that I hadn’t fully noticed. I realized there were beautiful pieces of art and design in the packaging, advertisements and web sites around me that were making the world I live in a better and more colorful place. Bad designs can confuse and confound or even depress. It is because of this that it is imperative to me that I do good work, as the work I make has been interacted with and obsorbed by thousands of people. Through my work I can brighten someones day, or help ease the necessary interactions we make on the web.
